Our Comprehensive Campaign

Our Comprehensive Campaign

Over the past several decades, the Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA) Foundation has created campaigns designed to support specific initiatives and institutional needs which enrich and enhance the student learning experience.

The school has now focused that common goal under the philanthropic umbrella of OCSA RISING, a campaign to support all the programs needed to inspire, impact, and invest in the next generation of artist-scholars. This campaign offers a menu of giving opportunities to meet donor interests and passions, and will continue to transform young lives for decades to come.

We invite you to join us by investing in one or more of our OCSA RISING opportunities. Together, with your generous support, we can help OCSA students rise to become the leaders of tomorrow!

For additional information, please contact Elizabeth Ton, Vice President of Development, at elizabeth.ton@ocsarts.net or 714.560.0900 ext. 5531.

Help Students in Need

The Artist Scholar Sponsorship Program supports more than 200 economically disadvantaged students who attend OCSA and whose families are living below the national poverty level. This campaign not only helps fund the arts conservatory portion of their school day, but makes certain they have access to the full OCSA experience, including school dances, yearbooks, technology, and school supplies.

Help Students in Need
Inspire students

Inspire students

An important instructional strategy at OCSA is to bring master artists and industry leaders to share their gifts, career stories, and expertise with students through residencies, master classes, lectures, and performances. Our Master Artist Series supports high-profile visiting artists who create meaningful and often life-changing experiences for our student artists. Guest artists have included jazz trumpeter, composer, and educator Wynton Marsalis; Grammy Award-winning violinist Joshua Bell; actress, playwright, activist, and educator Anna Deavere Smith; opera soprano Deborah Voigt; renowned executive chef Alex Guarnaschelli; concert violinist and educator Midori; songwriter and Disney legend Richard Sherman; composer and conductor Marvin Hamlisch; acclaimed mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade; filmmaker and director Francis Ford Coppola; dancer and choreographer Debbie Allen; and many more.

Create Enriching Opportunities

The Hearts for the Arts campaign provides additional support for arts conservatory needs beyond annual budgets, by purchasing special equipment and supplies, taking student artists on field trips to professional arts venues, and presenting student performances. Support helps OCSA students compete in and perform at regional, statewide, and national festivals in the theatre, culinary, and music fields, among others. It also enables student groups to travel internationally for performances at the invitation of arts presenters.

Play a Key Role as a Season Partner

Play a Key Role as a Season Partner

OCSA students participate in more than 200 performances, presentations, and exhibitions each year. Productions include concerts, opera scenes, readings, culinary showcases, film screenings, dance performances, musicals, plays, recitals, publications, and exhibitions. Major events include our Season Premiere concert, signature Gala, Performing with the Pros Broadway residency program, and Season Finale at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. These once-in-a-lifetime experiences are invaluable for the artistic training of our students, building confidence and helping them gain professional experience and achieve their full potential. Season Partners receive a variety of hospitality and promotional benefits to meet their corporate philanthropic needs and marketing objectives.

Invest in the Future

The Legacy Giving program is designed to build an endowment fund which will ensure the school’s future for generations to come. Including OCSA in your estate plans provides meaningful benefits for the donor and the school. Investments from the endowment provide a stable source of income and help bridge the gap between the school’s annual revenues and expenses.

Stock / Securities Donations

Donors wishing to make a donation of stock to OCSA can transfer the stock directly via your own broker. If you don't have a broker, as in the case of some of the online trading accounts, you can look for a "stock transfer form" on your accounts website.

You will need to provide OCSA’s account and DTC number to your broker, along with an "Authorization for Transfer of Gift Securities" form to start the transfer. However, if the stock gift is in the form of a stock certificate registered in your name, an "Authorization for Transfer of Gift Securities" form must be presented along with your stock certificate.

Parent Giving Program

Parent Giving Program

Orange County School of the Arts is a donation-dependent public charter school. No student is offered or denied enrollment based upon financial capacity. However, each school year we must raise more than $10 million in private funds to underwrite the arts conservatory programs, and we rely on parents and the community-at-large to help us reach this goal.

The Parent Giving Program was created to provide parents with an opportunity to contribute an annual donation to their child’s arts education. All parent funding contributions are voluntary, and directly support the curriculum, classes, faculty wages, and operating costs for each arts conservatory. All cash donations to the school are tax deductible. Additional details on our Parent Giving Program are presented to parents at yearly meetings.
