Academic Resources

UC Approved Online Programs

All OCSA Graduation Requirements (Literature and Composition, Math, Science, Social Studies, World Language, PE, and Fine Arts), must be taken initially at OCSA to ensure the student is being taught according to the standards established by both the OCSA Board of Trustees and the State of California.

Any course taken outside of OCSA must be pre-approved by a high school counselor. To take a class for remediation or enrichment, students may attend summer school at any accredited high school, California Community College or UC approved online program. Click HERE to access OCSA’s course approval form.

Please check the UC articulation website HERE to make sure the specific course you are interested in taking is on the institution's approved course list.  While there are hundreds of acceptable UC Approved Online Providers, below is a list of frequently used programs:

California Community College information can be found on your local community college website. Students will need to create an account and complete a K-12 permission form (also called Special Admit Form). A high school counselor or administrator will need to sign off on the form prior to enrollment in a class.

CSU Early Assessment Program

CSU Early Assessment Program

The Early Assessment Program (EAP) lets you know if you are ready for college-level work in English and mathematics at the end of your junior year of high school. In spring of your junior year, you will participate in the California Assessment of Student Performance and progress (CAASPP) assessments in English language arts//literacy and mathematics.  The CSU will use the CAASPP results to determine your EAP status.   This early signal gives you the opportunity to improve your skills during your senior year or the summer before attending a CSU or community college. As a high school senior, you may determine your EAP status for math and English by accessing www.csusuccess.org/eap_results, log in with your CSU Mentor account, and follow a simple four step process. You may also receive step-by-step advice on preparing for the CSU.
