COURSE OFFERINGS - OCSA offers 24 AP classes and 7 honors level courses. Most AP and honors courses have pre-requisites, so please refer to the Curriculum Handbook when determining courses for the upcoming school year. If a student does not meet the prerequisites for a course and still wants to take the class, the student may meet with a school counselor to discuss a plan and complete an AP/Honors course waiver form that may enable an opportunity to take the course.

Some AP and honors courses have summer assignments; all summer assignment information for the current year can be found by clicking on the button below.

2024-2025 AP Exam Information

AP exams will be administered in May 2025. All students currently in an AP class at OCSA are eligible to take a corresponding AP exam. Because there is a sizable monetary obligation associated with taking AP exams and extensive study time involved, it is essential for students and parents to discuss and determine how many exams the student can realistically manage. Students are encouraged to register only for those exams they are committed to taking. It is important to note that not all colleges accept AP scores for college credit; OCSA counselors can provide additional information and clarity. An AP bulletin with additional information can be accessed on the College Board website.

PURCHASING AN EXAM – Students wishing to take an AP exam this year should register and pay for the exam(s) on OCSA's Student Store at MySchoolBucks.com beginning September 3. The cost for each exam is $110, with the exception of AP Research and AP Seminar; the cost for each of these exams is $155. If your family qualifies for FRLP, the fee is $100 for AP Research and Seminar, $55 for all others. When ordering exams, we highly encourage both student and parent to be present to ensure that the correct exams are ordered. Please print/save the emailed receipt of payment for your records as students may be asked for this for future reference or refunds. The priority deadline for purchasing an exam is Sunday, October 27, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Exams purchased between October 28 and March 2, 2025 will incur a $40 late fee per exam. No exams will be purchased after March 2, 2025.

AP Exam Schedule and Information – The administration schedule for the 2025 AP Exams can be found here. Students will be notified of their exact testing location prior to the exam date.

Late Exams – Late AP Exams are offered only to students who have two exams scheduled at the same time or in an emergency situation. The purchasing and scheduling of late exams must be coordinated through OCSA; students cannot independently purchase or schedule a late exam. Please know that, depending upon the circumstance, late exams may incur additional fees.

REFUND POLICY - A full refund will be issued for exams canceled before November 2, 2024. Between November 2, 2024 and April 6, 2025 a $40 cancellation fee will apply and students can receive a partial refund. NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED AFTER APRIL 6.

AP SCORES – AP Score reports will be available in July 2025. At that time, students will be able to view their scores on the College Board’s website and send them to colleges via their automated grade reporting system.

ACT & SAT Practice Tests

OCSA Counselors recommend that all sophomores (grade 10) and juniors (grade 11) take the practice ACT (PreACT) and SAT (PSAT) exams in order to identify which one they prefer and/or perform better on. These exams are not offered to middle school students.

OCSA will offer the PreACT on Saturday, October 19, 2024 and the PSAT on Saturday, October 26, 2024. Score reports from these exams are available to students in January. To register for one of these practice tests at OCSA, please register on MySchoolBucks.

ACT & SAT: College Entrance Exams

OCSA Counselors recommend that all Grade 11 students take their first “real” test of their choice (ACT or SAT) during the spring of their junior year. This gives them the most time and exposure to their academic curriculum and also gives them time to get their scores back before going into senior year. Please note, the last time to sit for either the ACT or SAT is the December test date of senior year.

To register for an official ACT or SAT (off-campus), please visit the official testing websites using the buttons below. *Please note, OCSA is not a testing site for the official ACT or SAT.

Advanced Placement (AP) Exams

OCSA Counselors recommend that students take the AP exam(s) in May for any AP course(s) that they have completed at OCSA. More information regarding AP classes and exams can be found here.
